Minecraft Map has Finally been Completely Mined, after five Years

The Minecraft map is huge and can be difficult to wrap your mind (and pick and shovel) around. For most players, they'll be able to start an entirely new world before they've seen the entirety of the old one, picking it free of diamonds, redstone, and other valuables before moving on to new ground. Minthical, a YouTuber, takes an even more thorough approach.

While we normally write about amazing Minecraft designs, such as people recreating MS paint, or magical changing villages, it's a little more rare that a great Minecraft map is worth writing about. Official ones are fine, but the IKEA map is a stand-out example. This map is unique in that it doesn't concentrate on what's being made, but rather what's being destroyed.

Minthical is a YouTuber who, for the past five years, has been mining away every single block on a single map. That's more than 45 million blocks. On August 12, Minthical broadcast live the extent to which they're getting to completing this world-ending challenge. In the video, they talk about how many blocks they've mined, the difficulties of mining them as well as a few important tips on the scale. It's a great way to show off fans of stats. They believe they'll be finished with the project by September, so if you want to be sure to be there when the last block is mined, ensure you're a subscriber.

If you like the sound of destroying everything, but don't want to commit five years doing it You'll be glad to know we've got all of the Minecraft console commands and cheats for you. We've also got all the information you need to know about the history of ancient cities too, just in case you'd like to do some exploring.
